In the mid 1960's, a number of Kansas City residents began meeting informally and, in July of 1968, they founded the Bonsai Society of Greater Kansas City. Today, the Society is composed of nearly one hundred members from California, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The Society conducts a year-round program of education to encourage and advance the appreciation and practice of the art of Bonsai.
